Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does an architect do?

Architects are highly trained licensed professionals that provide architectural services to create spaces that are beneficial to both private clients and the general public using the space. In order to be legally identified as an "Architect" in Australia, a person must complete a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in architecture, followed by two years of practical work to be able to sit the verbal and written registration examination. Once the individuals pass the 3 stages of the exam, they can get registered with the Architects registration board and will be eligible to use the title "Architect". Through this long process of training for registration, architects become uniquely equipped to help their clients to manage their entire project, from early stages of design through to the construction phase, to ensure its success.

Other professional services that does not fit in to the core architectural services category, are expert witness and inspections, master planning and feasibility studies, project management, obtaining planning permits and communications with councils, 3d visualisation and illustrations.
